Livestock Risk Protection
We are now approved by Federal Crop to offer Livestock Insurance Plans. At this time we are offering Fed Cattle and Swine coverage.

LRP (Livestock Risk Protection) Fed Cattle and Swine are designed to insure against the declining markets. You may select from a variety of coverage levels and periods of insurance that will correspond with the time your market weight cattle will be sold. This policy may be purchased continuously throughout the year. A one time application is submitted, after being accepted Specific Coverage Endorsements (SCE) may be purchased for up to 2000 head of heifers and steers weighing between 1000 and 1400 pounds to be marketed for slaughter near the end of the insurance period. The length of insurance for each SCE is from 13 to 52 weeks, and the annual limit that is set is 4000 head per producer for each crop year.

Swine coverage may be purchased for up to 10,000 head of hogs. The length of insurance for each SCE is 13 to 26 weeks. The annual limit for Swine coverage is 32,000 head per producer for each crop year that runs from July 1st to June 30th.

Each producer may select coverage prices ranging from 70 to 95 percent of the expected ending value at the time you select your SCE. At the end of the insurance period if the actual ending value is below the coverage price, you may be paid an indemnity for the difference between the coverage price and the actual ending value.

Insurance coverage starts the day you purchase the SCE. The application could be rejected if the funding limitations have been reached.
